I’ve completed the migration of your domain, email, and data from GoDaddy/Microsoft 365 to Proton. Below is a summary of what’s been done, along with instructions to help you get the most out of your Proton services.

I went ahead and turned off "auto-renew" on your GoDaddy account.

Migration Summary

  • All emails (~20,000) have been successfully migrated from Microsoft 365 to Proton Mail.
  • A full backup of your Outlook mailbox is stored in a ZIP file for safekeeping.
  • Your primary email is now: jeff@jmhershlaw.com
  • A catch-all address has been set up: catch@jmhershlaw.com (this receives any mail sent to anything@jmhershlaw.com).
  • Proton Family account features are enabled: Proton Mail, Proton VPN, Proton Drive, and Proton Pass.

Proton Mail

Features you now have:

  • End-to-end encrypted email
  • Custom domain (@jmhershlaw.com)
  • Catch-all support
  • Spam and phishing protection

Setup Checklist

  • Log in to Proton Mail on your PC: https://mail.proton.me
  • Download the Proton Mail app on your iPhone (from App Store).
  • Sign in with your Proton credentials.

Proton Pass (Password Manager)

Proton Pass replaces your old password manager. It’s encrypted, syncs across devices, and can store not only passwords but also secure notes and 2FA codes.

Setup Checklist

  • Download Proton Pass on your PC: Proton Pass Desktop
  • Download Proton Pass on iPhone (App Store).
  • Log in with your Proton account.
  • Set Proton Pass as the default autofill provider on iPhone:
    • Settings → Passwords → Password Options → Select Proton Pass.
  • Import passwords from your old password manager (instructions: https://proton.me/support/import-passwords-pass).

Extra Security – Keys:
Proton Pass (and Proton in general) supports hardware security keys (like YubiKey) for 2FA.
These add a strong physical layer of security. We can set this up later once you have a key.

Proton VPN

This protects your internet connection by encrypting it and hiding your IP address.

Setup Checklist

  • Proton VPN Downloads
  • Download Proton VPN for iPhone (App Store).
  • Log in with your Proton account.
  • Connect to a server (choose “Quick Connect” for the fastest).

Proton Drive

Your account includes 1 TB of encrypted cloud storage, shared between Mail, Drive, and Photos.

Setup Checklist

  • Access Proton Drive in the browser: https://drive.proton.me
  • Download Proton Drive for PC (sync client).
  • Download Proton Drive app on iPhone (App Store).
  • Use it to back up important files securely.
